Google Drive for Mac gives users a significant amount of storage in an easy to use platform that is available on many device types. Google Drive for Mac comes with a free version that allows.
I have the same issue, but will list details that I do not see here. My MacBook Air is brand new. I have updated the Mountain Lion OS. I installed the latest version of Google Drive. I initiated a sync and let the computer do its thing overnight (it would be downloading 38 gigs).
The next day I could see only a partial listing of my files. When I moused-over on the Google Drive icon in the Menu Bar, all I got was the spinning colored wheel ('Beach Ball Of Death') for about 12 minutes until Google Drive crashed. I shut everything down and restarted the computer. When the OS was back and running, again I moused-over the Drive icon. It gave me the 'Scanning web' message.
O.k., all is good, I thought. My Windows machine does the same thing. However, even after an hour that's all I would get until, once again, a crash. The 'Beach Ball Of Death'. I did a re-start again and everything repeated itself.
When I opened the folder what I saw was that some files and folders synced, but randomly. There was no rhyme or reason to what synced (i.e., a folder that had 13 folders within it did not sync, but 3 of the folders that were within it did.) I have had no problems with Google Drive on my Windows machines but I need it to also work on my Mac. I hate to say it but moving to Dropbox is probably the only solution. God bless all + crisdean81, 3:57 น. I have been using Drive with my Mac, PCs and multiple phones (Android and iOS). I haven't had many issues until today. I posted a pile of pictures to share with my daughter on my Google Drive by dropping them into my Google Drive folder on the Mac.
Last night the Drive Mac client said 'Sync complete' - this was a total lie. Today my daughter (and myself via my Android phone) could see only a few of the 1000 pix I had dropped. On the browser via Drive, I could see the files in a list, but the file was not present, and the thumbnail was unavailable.
In fact, the UI lied about status - it had synced the file structure, but not the files. After opening my Mac to wake it up, I can see the pix slowly trickling into the cloud. There is absolutely no indication that Drive is still syncing - other than the fact that the files are not there. It still says 'sync complete'. The files still upload AFTER the sync complete status is shown.
Upshot: do NOT trust the sync status in the Drive tray icon - it lies. Leave your computer engaged and awake, until you are certain that the files have synced. (ไม่รู้จัก) 14/5/2013, 15:22 น. Reed Wilemon 20/5/2013, 14:57 น.
I was having the same issue over the last couple of days but was able to fix it quickly. Platform: Mac OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion, Google Drive Version 1.9.4536.8202 Problem: Some folders and files dropped into a local Google Drive Folder are not syncing to the web interface. Google Drive shows no Sync errors or indication that Drive saw the files at all. Solution: Make sure the Google Drive application is running and done syncing. Right-click the offending folder and click 'Move to Trash.'
A Google Drive dialogue box will open asking if you want to move the files to Google Drive trash as well, ignore it for the moment. Go to your local trashcan, right-click on the problem folder and click 'Put Back.' Go back to the Google Drive error (click on the menu bar icon if you need to) and select 'Undo.' You should see Drive start to sync. Additional Info: I suspect that my sync problems were caused by quitting the Drive application, putting folders into Google Drive folders and then restarting the Drive app.
I didn't have it running for a couple of days and then I started having the issue described in the post. Also, the order I put the dialogue box selections in are only what I used, it may not matter as long as you put the files in the trash and then put them back. Hope this helps. Joe Lion 7/6/2013, 23:32 น. I think I have solved this problem.
The google drive mac didn't sync the new files. If I add the new file to the 'google drive' folder using 'finder', it should sync the new files right away, right?
But I had a problem with that. I have deleted the google drive app and setting files completely and re-installed. Here's the step: 1. Unsync your google account from google drive mac app. Delete google drive mac app. Go to your '/library/Application Support/Google' folder. (command + shift + g on your finder) 4.

Delete 'Drive' folder completely. Re-install google drive mac app. Re-sync your google account. That should solve your problem.
At least it works for me. Duplic8tor 17/7/2013, 21:00 น.
